I’ve tried watching A24 movies, but I was disappointed every time. They have great production, but the story and dialogue of those movies make me never want to watch another.
I know people love to shit on A24, but they’ve put out good films. Some examples:
Enemy (Villeneuve)
Ex Machina
Room
The Witch
Green Room
The Lobster
Good Time
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Hereditary
Eighth Grade
Mid90s
Midsommar
The Lighthouse
Uncut Gems
Everything Everywhere All at Once
…Honestly, I was just scrolling through the list on wikipedia chronologically, and got tired and feel like I listed more than enough. That’s only some of them up to like 2021… There’s been some good ones since (Zone of Interest for one) Check out the list yourself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_A24_films
Kinda a good fit for a FromSoft game. Lost of impressive visuals, action, and tons of clues about a story sprinkled throughout the game without actually telling a story.

I was just being a little shit. I love a lot of the movies they produce, but they are very focused on aesthetics
A24 movies have story? I just watch them for the haunting still life pans, dark synth, and general vibe.

A so called “tone piece” yeah, that’s a good point.
They’re great if presented as art pieces, but marketing tries to convince me that they’re movies.
