On 20 November 2023, Biden received a call from Obama wishing him a happy 81st birthday, and invited his former boss to the White House for lunch. Obama remained “slightly incredulous” that Biden was running for a second term, the book says.

When the pair met for lunch in December, Obama argued that dividing the campaign leadership between Wilmington and Washington was not suitable for the fast decision-making required by a modern presidential election.

“After the lunch,” the authors write, “Obama did not leave the White House right away. He stopped to visit with Biden’s senior staff, many of whom used to work for him, and shared his account of what he and Biden had discussed. Obama was more blunt with the staff. ‘Your campaign is a mess,’ he told them.”

Does anyone in the entire country give a single solitary fuck about Biden’s feelings right now?

For real, it’s like we know you all failed us historically badly, you can stop proving it every time you open your placating maw for another round of useless pontificating.

Pied piper float on down the river and disappear forever this time.

      debatable

That’s being generous. At best old news no longer of value, at worst dredging up ridiculous suppositional drivel no longer of value.

      🤦‍♂️

Biden’s primary problem was that he could not comprehend where the criticism was coming from and would re-frame it in such a way as to absolve responsibility.

Look at the complaints about the Afghanistan evacuation. It was COMPLETELY fucked up and fucked up in ways that were 100% self inflicted.

People tried to tell him, Guam offered to help evacuate civilians, it was all denied under the black and white premise of “Well, we can’t stay, we have to get out, what do you want from me?”

Nobody is saying “stay”, we’re saying look at the order of operations. Can we please get all the civilians out first? Apparently nobody thought of that. Can we not leave behind any usable gear for the Taliban to take over? Yeah, nobody thought of that either.

Look at the complaints about inflation and the economy. Outright denial there was even a problem. Clinton could have told him “It’s the economy, stupid!” Biden? “What are you talking about, Jack? We have the best economy in the world! In… the… WOOOOORRLLLLD!”

Because he has the mind of an 80 year old…

Everyone around him was either taking advantage of him or complicit in what was happening.

We can’t keep pretending the normal biological effects of aging aren’t real. And because the way it affects, we’re usually the last ones to notice it’s happening.

Other people have to be able to make the call. It doesn’t matter if it’s polite, sometimes grandpa doesn’t get to keep the car keys.

I want to know about the 15 or 17 million democrats that voted in 2020, but were absent/not voted in 2024. If this is true, the dems failed us, and we can call an end to democracy as we know it, and the blame falls on them.

At this point, I figure I’m going to be threatened with, or actually deported, before 2028. Yes, I am making active “plans”.

It’s not that they failed to show up in '24, it’s that the '20 numbers were inflated by generous vote by mail rules due to covid restrictions.

Following '20, Republicans became TERRIFIED of vote by mail, because they know they’re outnumbered and the more people vote, the worse it gets for them.

So they took steps between '20 and '24 to restrict vote by mail. I was telling everyone to expect a lower turnout, everyone is blaming everything except the obvious: Making it easier to vote gets more people to vote.
