Yes Frau Von der Leyen, and Europe has had a big hand in it, too, especially the destruction of the international rule of law for the sake of the genocidal Israeli apartheid regime. Never before has Europe so blatantly undermined International Law and institutions, never before has Europe been so blatantly a genocide enabler. You murdered international law and now you’re going to go around shedding crocodile tears for it. You fool nobody. Europe has relinquished immense amounts of soft power, political goodwill and moral standing in the world.

The few European countries, such as Ireland and Spain that did break the mold are the only saving grace but I’m not sure they are enough to salvage the entire project. We, collectively as Europeans, are now responsible for having enabled a genocide, and shielded its perpetrators.

“Europe is stepping up. In the last weeks and months, we have made proposals to invest in our own defense at levels that would have been unthinkable even a year or two ago“ if she said that, then she isnt fit to be president of european commission

Why isn’t she fit? Because it implies that the increase in spending is unreasonable?

We should have already increased military spending by then (we should have started to invest in defensive industry in 2014, now its too late)

Wouldn’t Russia have invaded an unprepared Ukraine if the EU had increased spending in 2014?

They probably would, just not in 2022 and more importantly, ukraine would hopefully get a lot more weapons from eu, as they would have plenty in storage

Where do the weapons come from in 2014 if Russia would have invaded then?

I dont think russia would have been in a position to start a war then. (but all of this is just hypothetical, so I wouldnt linger on it too much)
