I, too have trouble remembering things that never happened.
I can’t criticize him for that. I can’t remember anything he’s solved either.
That’s because he solved so many. Some people say the most wars in the history of the country. Many Big very strong warriors go to him with tears in their eyes and say “Thank you sir for creating peace on earth and good will to all”.
He’s the best war solver. He solved WWII. There was no more war after that
He did have a stroke the other day.
“…the other day.” was my grandmothers phrase, which could have meant last week, or decades ago. It was an other day.
Well, that is what it means.
As a child, I needed a tad bit more context. Also, in retrospect, it was probably a coping mechanism for age related cognitive decline (ARCD).
I use it when the timing is totally irrelevant to the conversation and the increased cognitive load from specificity for both the speaker and listener would just detract from the topic.
I was born the other day.
The phrase is intentionally vague.
