It is not illegal at all. The SCOTUS said so themselves: money is speech, and corporations can “donate” as much as they want. Lobbying that is not bribery is simply ignored. As long as money changes hands, it is bribery; what makes it legal is to drop a check on the desk and say “my client has some concerns about upcoming legislation” instead of saying “you can have this money if you vote how I say to vote.”
