I wouldn’t be surprised if the MAGA Reps are willngly trying to shut down the government solely to shut down Ukraine’s defenses in Russia’s invasion of their country. The fact that they’re acting so pissy about this lends credence to that theory.

I doubt it’s the only reason why, but I’m also sure it’s a big part of it.

It was McCarthy who empowered this bunch. He just didn’t look past getting the Speakership. He wanted the chair in the worse way, and he got it.

The fact that they can make exemptions like this just further proves this whole shutdown nonsense is all for show.

Why are republicans so afraid of russia? Can’t they just hide behind the democrats and let them do the actual work?

Well. I’ve seen some construct a scenario in which some bits of kompromat were leveraged to shift the loyalties of and/or social circles around key players, using just what was public record.

These hardliners complaining about what gets funded during the shutdown and they are the ones causing the shutdown. Just don’t shutdown the goddamn government and people won’t be impacted.

I hope the DoD also does the same for the Trump judgments. Leave them without anything to win, and they’ll loose interest
