poVoq here. I am starting to think I am cursed, because everything works fine (or is at least fixable with a remote server restart) until the second I go on a longer business trip and can’t easily access the hardware.

Remote access is mostly lost, but I was able to triangulate the issue and of course it is something I had on my list of potential issues, but as a low priority item 🫠 At least it isn’t the same problem again as in 2025.

What exactly triggered the issue is unclear though. I was still able to access the reverse-proxy server yesterday (shortly before it went down) and tried to do some updates for that php security problem in a VM that runs on the same machine. I thought I had those covered, but there is a slight chance that it is related and someone chained another exploit to escape the VM.

Anyways, it looks like the realistic / not overly optimistic scenario is that the server will stay down until christmas. I did have someone who could restart the servers on site until this summer, but they had to relocate to mainland Portugal for job reasons (tourism sector) and so they will also only return for christmas.

So yeah, not great at all, and I will have to think more seriously about how compatible this kind of self-hosting is with my current job, which limits my access to the servers for a few weeks at least once a year. It was easier during the pandemic times when I started all this, as deployments were shorter and more seldom back then.

I had Bluetooth issues with my computer, usb adapters were not working to pair controllers. I did manage to fix it by installing motherboard’s driver manager, Gigabyte Control Center, and then installing their bluetooth drivers from there. So on the off chance you have a gigabyte motherboard that also has GCC, you might be able to try that to fix your bluetooth.

Not sure if the same solution would work for other motherboard vendors with their respective software, or if the problem I was having was limited to Gigabyte.

Isn’t that just a client side filter, would be up to whoever runs the community/instance rules for handling bot accounts, and if they feel the accounts should be banned.

In my experience, highschool teachers could not be bothered to look over or grade assignments. They would do a lazy “what grade do you think you deserve” essay at the start of the year and carry that grade that you gave yourself through the remaining terms regardless of how much work you did or did not do, even missing that mandatory assignments were skipped.

Some quick solutions would be:

Also, those posts in the signed out view all have the English tag set, you may need to go into your settings and add English to your selected languages. Keep Undetermined selected as a fallback for when people do not set a language for their posts/comments.

Bots advertising crypto scam. If you look at the first comments they’re essentially all the same nonsense and just adding in random buzz words associated with crypto/ai.

You wanna check the screenshots I provided where I searched for both “Nazi” and “Canada” in World News and could not any posts about the Canadian Parliament incident? Even this half-assed post fails to provide any actual details concerning the incident.

It’s pretty easy to mess with people pushing an agenda when they have no argument to begin with. You’re just blatantly here to fight with people while pretending to be concerned about Nazis in Canada, your previous comments to other people here make that obvious.

Great, why wasn’t this the original post to begin with? Go and post it as a top-level comment so people don’t need to dig into a comment chain for context or edit your post to have that link in the body of the post.

This is what shows up when searching World News for “Nazi” while sorted by New. There are no posts referencing Canada at all in any of the search results within the last 2 months. There is no context here in this community to make your post even remotely relevant.

Your post is also the only one mentioning “Nazis” when searching World News for “Canada” while sorted by new. There are not a “dozen other threads” covering the topic, there isn’t even one thread mentioning it.

The article you posted belongs in a History community as it is an old article referencing an event which occurred in the 1950s; it isn’t news. If you wanted to make a post about Canadian Parliament giving a standing ovation to a Nazi, then the article you just replied to me with should have been the original post to begin with because that is current news.

The rules in the sidebar should be enough to tell you that your post is too old to be here. You aren’t even discussing the incident, only using it as an excuse to defend posting outdated news, and trying to attack other users when you don’t even understand why your original post is bad to begin with.

If you’re going to say that there are Nazis in Canada, at least use an article written within the last 5 years.

You couldn’t even be bothered to provide a link to an article citing incident you’re referring to in your post, as a top-level comment or even as a child-comment replying to anyone saying your 25-year-old article is too old to be posted here. You haven’t provided the context as to why the article in your post is relevant to anything, and anyone reading through that article would still have no knowledge about ‘Canadian parliament giving a standing ovation’.

I’m also unsure why you thought posting a 25-year-old article would be considered relevant news when it makes no mention of an incident happening within the last week.

Weird to link to a 25 year old article about Nazis in Canada, when we have the recent example from the trucker “protest”.

You seem more interested in trying to push that a certain nationality are Nazis though, and not that Canada currently has a group of people which do support Nazi ideology.
