Running is cheap. If you don’t have dependents and are willing to work. They said they have some money saved up. Just buy a greyhound ticket or equivalent and leave your phone behind and a letter not to come looking, ever. Make your way until you can afford to travel in the direction you want to go. Its the life waiting for anyone the second they decide to step out the door. Its neither easy nor comfortable, but its free.

That might be the kind of circumstances that should give you grounds to leave forever. How about leaving to a welfare state where your family will never find you? Move to Germany, being disabled is not a crime here and education here is excellent, so is healthcare.
Employer here. Look for an alternative offer to leverage. Tell both parties that home office guarantees in writing will have a lot of weight in your final decision.

No lead pipes. 70C water temp against legionella. Yearly water quality tests in all public buildings. Drinkable tap water by law in any rental property. Europe <3

You clearly never hads good creme brulet. And its for all seasons though we make it asa Christmas treat.

Creme brulet.
Same boat. Never perfect but i do what i can. I plan a lot of buffer times for things to go wrong for important things.
Interesting. I always see it as “I chose to be there at the specific time, the clock helps us both respect the others time better”. Its a coordination device. Early in life we don’t choose the time usually, like school and job etc. So might come with a flavor of tyranny. Interesting
Being on time is about respecting other peoples time, not about obeying anything.
Employer here (yes, I know right?! Sigh). Being on time and punctuality is about respect of other people time not about suppressing workers freedoms. We have no time to arrive for anyone. You can use the office if you like or work remotely from wherever you chose. But being late for a meeting with anyone relayed to the firm (customer or coworker including me) has to stay a seldom occurrence. Having multiple people wait for you 10 min is a pain point for everybody involved. It happens, I get it, but it everybody does not keep it to once in a long while everybody waits at every meeting which is not respectful of their time and its wasting quite some money too (Yes my people earn well above average). Is it too much to ask some basic respectful handling of each other?
BTW: there are employees that can’t handle that much autonomy yet. They specifically ask me to check their working hours and be at the office present for them to help them get their hours in and help with technical problems. But that’s usually new staff which has not learned to keep a routine. With time they usually get it together sooner or later. Surprisingly most make use of the office pretty regularly and just don’t come in if they travel to visit family or need to be at home for family reasons. Its a win all around as far as i am concerned.

Not sure i would agree that Goebbels and Stalin were necessarily bros.

Ruling political geriatracy gives self more tax freedom while causing the most burden on society.

AFAIK there is. But even if not, it simulates a keyboard which can input your passphrase. Also modification of the initrd is a matter of providing a bash script or binary to launch which returns the passphrase in the crypttab file and adding it to the correct directory.

Preferably in your brain and maybe partially in a smart card protected by a pin?

If you use TPM for signing, that is not an issue most of the time. But if you store decryption keys for a storage device there that’s not a good idea.

Ya let’s get back to nomadism. Live in tentssI guess?

Tell me to don’t have kids without telling me you don’t have small kids. X)
Your edc looks about 90% like mine. Fun. Minus flipper and deodorant. Add some lockpicks, a laptop and one of those ultra small extra wicking towels for surprise showers at work.
