Holy fuck, I am so sick of this.
Holy fuck, I am so sick of this.
The family is seeking an independent autopsy. Do we know about how long that will take? Somehow, no matter the results, I doubt i’ll continue to see much about this specific incident in national news, and I’d like to remind myself to check back in on this.
Honestly, it happens at least four or five times a year on average. Not kidding, you found out my secret.
So if Democrats shut down government funding in a couple of weeks, which automatically closes national parks, will it also stop drilling?
Regardless, please Democrats, have a spine.
This is my actual answer, also “wall adapter,” but I really liked Ginny’s “argly bargy cable chargie.”
When you can no longer afford to buy things, including furniture, at stores, thrifting as a habit become an errand. Not one that takes long enough to meet up with a friend, I agree, but it is a slightly different headspace than going shopping.
Fucking scabs, I feel a similar sense of disappointment that I felt talking to women who said they didn’t vote for Kamala Harris or Hillary Clinton because their voices were too shrill.
I got really excited about the Pirate Party in Iceland a few years ago. I’m not sure what happened to them (it’s hard to get news from other countrues sometimes) but one of their big initiatives was a crowd-sourced constitution. It was the first time I’d thought about something like that being really possible, and I think that if it weren’t for the one percent of the population who are megalomaniacs, the internet could be truly democratizing.
In the meantime, sign a strike card on the completely decentralized https://www.generalstrikeus.com/, which is also a pretty exciting notion to me. Sadly, I’m now considering what leaders might float to the top if we ever do reach 3.5% of the population… Decentralized organizing does not mean decentralized leadership. Hm, i’ll have to think about that more.

Just dont skip Trump’s name while reading…
We are getting to a point of no return… or at least a return that would be very, very difficult to achieve. But it’s all done in a very calculated way to make you feel like everything is going fine if you’re not directly affected. It’s fine if the Supreme Court approves of these power grabs, right? And, how can I pay attention when there’s so much going on, right? But Trump is demonizing groups of people as enemies, defying constitutional rights, and making power grabs never before seen from the executive branch in this country. It’s only been a few months and it keeps getting worse.
We’re in very deep shit. Sign a strike card! https://generalstrikeus.com/
Oh gosh, I just think regional variation in language is really cool, and while I’ve heard ‘God forbid’ a lot in my life, I’ve never heard the phrase OP used. Turns out it was auto-correct, which I half-suspected, but I would have loved to have known where that had come from. If you’re interested in this kind of thing, I highly recommend the talk show “A Way with Words.” The hosts get really nerdily excited about just these kinds of phrases, so given that I listened to that program regularly, I’m kind of on the lookout.
Is this also because I’m an atheist living in the South? Possibly. ‘God forgot’ shows some lack of divine omnipotence, which I find kind of exciting.
god forgot
Do you use that regularly? How cool! Or is it autocorrect?
Labor unions were integral to both of these movements. Students may not have learned much about labor unions in school, but the political elites sure have focused on dismantling them.
The workweek strikes in France a few years ago were entirely organized by five or so labor unions. They wanted to maintain their 35-hour work week. Can you imagine?
We will join if we hear about it
Y’all want to burn some flags in DC this Monday? I’m game
I’ve been watching the numbers for a while and there was a large bump up a few months ago when the protests started. Many people are looking for an organizing voice but without unions who will be heard?
I was recently toying with taping the URL to the back of my car…
Even Asheville roads, post hurricane, are at this point way better then SC roads. Not saying we’re spending wisely, though. I sure wish DOT wasn’t just a highway/stroad development department.
Bricks? I’ve seen a surprising amount about utensils, but I think i missed the bricks.
*lynched
No disrespect meant, but that’s what this was (barring independent evidence to the contrary).
