Yeah, what OP posted isn’t a gotcha for MAGA types. Speaking from experience, “because we said so” is literally what their policy justifications boil down to if you really corner them on justifying their policies.

They are also moving past “illegal” because US visas don’t actually mean a thing now - the US border control has arrested several people with valid visas already. And when people get used to this, they’ll be able to disappear anyone and claim they weren’t American citizens.
