It’s insane to me that a tech outlet can write an entire article like this with no mention of software updates.
EU now mandates minimum of 5 years after the device is no longer on sale, so most likely 7 years total. This was a law that came into place just 1 week ago.
If you’re outside the EU it’s possible you won’t get that, but since the work is already done, you can likely count on it coming to other markets too.
Note that Hungary and Austria will get a smaller 5,300mAh pack.

Not sure if that’s the reason but it seems like a reasonable explanation.
If it was all of Europe, I’d agree. That explanation seems improbable for just two countries.
The rules for transport of batteries are based on the size of the cell rather than the size of the battery package in total.
That sounds like an obvious loophole?
