Current summer tires are getting worn, tread is at 2,5mm, legal limit is 1,3mm, minor dry cracks noticed, yeah, tires are getting old and will be replaced ahead of the summer season next year.
I replace my tyres once per year because I average around 25-30 thousand kms per year. They tend to last 10-50 thousand kms depending on usage, but knowing I will be putting the car in for replacing them again a few months later it seems worth just getting done. It makes it simpler and the cost of repairing or replacing my car plus the opportunity cost of not having a working car makes it cheaper to just accept the known cost of replacing the tyres rather than the unknown.
You need to get nicer tires. None should wear out at 50k kms, much less 10k 😳
My car is in rather excellent shape mechanically but I need to prioritize reupholstering and repainting it within the next few months.
I personally wouldn’t bother unless it was (or used to be) some really nice and representative vehicle.
Give yourself some really nice interior detailing for that cash though
It’s a 2009 Audi A3 hatchback with the sport package. While old, I’m in love with the car and it’s my first “nice” car. I already dumped way too much money into it fixing things, but I work from home and mainly use it on the weekend anyway.
I want to hold onto the car as long as possible. I do want it to look nice so it’s kind of worth it for me.
Got it, just keep in mind that it’s never a good sign for a car to have the second paint, and it’s also super expensive
You may accidentally make it super hard to sell your car for any reasonable price
