Donald Trump has sued Rupert Murdoch and two Wall Street Journal newspaper reporters for libel and slander over claims that he sent sex offender Jeffrey Epstein a bawdy note and sketch of a naked woman.

Trump’s lawsuit on Friday, which also targets Dow Jones and News Corp, was filed in the southern district of Florida federal court in Miami.

It came after the Journal reported on a 50th birthday greeting that Trump allegedly sent to Epstein in 2003 that included a sexually suggestive drawing and reference to secrets they shared. It was reportedly a contribution to a birthday album compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell.

Wasn’t one of the justifications for giving the President blanket immunity was that his job is too important to have him distracted by a court case?

It would be genuinely funny if the man who has nearly 3x the reported wealth of Trump, and who also owns the media empire that fueled Trump’s political rise, loses here

Although, I wasn’t expecting Musk to get spanked so quickly, so maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about xD

Depends if Murdoch actually cares about proving the journalistic integrity of the WSJ or appeasing Trump who’s FCC could pull broadcasting licenses even if Murdoch wins.

My guess is Murdoch settles and and the WSJ prints a front page retraction.

I think you have an excellent point about the FCC, and if anything that aspect will be an interesting thing to keep an eye on. Because even my grandmother, who is a few years younger than Murdoch, watches Fox on YouTube now

Yes, that’s why I mentioned YouTube, because AFAIK they currently can’t dictate what is streamed online.

I’m not sure what the recent Net Neutrality strike means in this regard though. In March of this year the FCC commissioner stated he wanted control over YouTube TV
