    Convictions for sexual assault are made based on testimony alone all the time. They’re often made years after the fact when all physical evidence is gone.

          Give the alleged victim ample psychological and legal support.
          Attempt to gather evidence that abuse took place, if possible and, if so, convict.

          Otherwise you’re just opening the door for an innocent person1 to go to jail on a whim.
          You can’t bitch about deporting people without due process and be fine with the same happening with alleged abusers.

          (1 not that i believe trump to be innocent, at all)

            Which isn’t how it works. You do have collaborating (but not decisive) evidence.

            The prosecution makes their case. The defense takes that case apart. There are plenty of issues with the American system of justice, but this isn’t one of them.
