I don’t think any of this is responsible but if anything is going to change, we have to fight fire with fire. That’s all there is to it. They need to break the system until there is reform.

I think thats the crux. Its responsible in the current context. It sucks but its nothing compared to throwing out due process, foreign renditions, and threatening the same on political enemies.

Why does it seem like they’re only willing to fight fire with fire when it serves both them and the Republicans in the process? They allowed Republicans to steal two SCOTUS nominations, they allowed Trump to walk free after committing nearly a hundred felonies, they pass Republican bill after Republican bill, they kept the Epstein files secret.

But only now after they aided Texas Republicans in gerrymandering are they also engaging in gerrymandering for their own private organization’s benefit and people cheer this on as if their favorite “good guy” wrestler just did a suplex on the “bad guy” wrestler not realizing it’s all a show.

Meanwhile the country is falling apart and nobody seems interesting in doing anything to stop that.

From the guy who was moderate for 8 years when we needed radical change to counter fascism. He had a supermajority in Congress for 2 years. He was still trying to be “fair” while fighting unadulterated evil. How did that work out? Why does his opinion matter, because he’s one of the “safe” establishment Democrats who is starting to realize what they forfeited?

It doesn’t go far enough. Just cancels out what Texas did. But FL is planning to do it now too so we are back to the start. Assuming this passes in November
