And I do actually mean help here and not “fix my car while I watch”
Basically we both work on it in different spots so we get the work done faster, we tag out when a specific thing is being a headache, or I do the thing and he guides me through it so I don’t make my car a lawn ornament (my favorite)
Plus it’s often easier to be two for some stuff like bleeding brake fluid
With my tool/skill set doing brakes is explicitly a 2 person job.
I don’t even know how it could be done as one person.
And of course there’s the satisfaction of a job well done with others as well. Collaborating with someone on a project and succeeding is SO satisfying. Like I’d rather do a project with a friend than by myself whenever possible.
Okay so real answer, I bleed my brake by throwing a brick at the pedal.
You can but it usually requires a little tooling like a vacuum pump
Tis more fun together anyway
you can DIY by turning a 12v tire inflator in reverse electrically to bleed the brakes as a one person job (just switch the wires).
just be sure to keep an eye on the brake fluid reservoir level because I was underneath the car and wasn’t paying attention to the top and almost sucked in a whole bunch of bubbles.
We talking LTT level car repair, or Dankpods level car repair?
Brb putting Pepsi in my coolant
no… it’s cola to remove the rust without elbow grease.
and don’t forget the blinker fluid and new muffler bearings
