    zero knowledge. It’s called learning.

I have a degree in this shit. Get off your stupid high horse, you’re not helping or educating anyone. You just want to feel good about yourself by calling other people stupid and doing a shit job at science advocacy. How about you learn what not being an arrogant dick looks like?

We should stop treating adults like children. This is not hard. When people attack science we should back. Being ignorant is not useful to anyone.

That initial comment can be taken in two ways, and you chose the worst one by thinking they’re antivax when in fact they’re not. Take a look at this removed comment from the modlog by the person you originally replied to:

Not to mention the context. It’s Lemmy where the overwhelming majority of users are squarely pro-vax and generally well-educated to assume the worst from the get-go. The least you can do is skim through a user’s comment history to get a sense of what they mean if you’re so keen on people figuring things out on their own. At least be coherent in that front.

My point is for you to stop being arrogant, stop assuming things, and learn proper science communication. Keep your conviction, but do it right.

Telling people they can learn anything is arrogant? They can… They just don’t want to.

The way you’re going about it is arrogant. The starting point you’re proposing is unintuitive, more time-consuming, impractical, and wildly expensive. “Well, they don’t want to learn!” Really.

I respectfully disagree. I think that’s high education, elitist nonsense and the reason there is little to no progress being made. You all gatekeep.

How is it elitist to tell you that you’re promoting the most impractical way for lay people to learn and then blame them for not following through? lol
