Same here. I really like it and bought the Premium version already to support the developer. It’s not on the same level of customization and not as feature rich as Nova, but it’s quite nice. And it’s under active development.
It’s a long running podcast about phones. One of the hosts recently started mentioning Octopi Launcher a lot after switching to it from Nova, and several of the listeners seem to have started using ir as well. I’d never heard of it outside of that podcast community so I thought perhaps you were a member!
