The investigation is ongoing, but I want to make it crystal clear right now to whoever did this. We will find you. We will try you and we will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law. And I just want to remind people that we still have the death penalty here in the state of Utah.
We can return violence with violence, we can return hate with hate. And that’s the problem with political violence, is it metastasizes. Because we can always point the finger at the other side. And at some point, we have to find an off ramp, or it’s going to get much much worse.

The people who make it a regular habit to attack others because of who they are, yet also somehow have a persecution complex, find it pretty easy to assume that when one of their own gets attacked it’s because of who they are too.
