Immigrants could even be the reason to bring housing prices down if enough construction workers come and would be able to build houses. The permits are not there, for political reasons, which could be that the tension is wanted.

With a falling population, politicians would have to tear down housing to prevent rents from falling due to oversupply, which they hardly could. Then the rich couldn’t increase rent, even if they paid outrageous prices for houses, because something cheap would be available.

Likewise, the closing businesses would fight for workers and rise wages to the limits of profitability.

From a workers perspective, immigrants take away that negotiation power. They are the voters, and they don’t benefit from immigrants being good for the German economy.

The betrayal of the CxU is known. They have created the situation. That’s why the AfD is gaining influence. What people ignore is that they are neoliberal and established by the establishnent.

It’s also neoliberal if immigrants are sold to Germans as a necessary solution for their aging economy. That reduces both Germans and Immigrants to cogs in the machine.

I believe that migration would be a nonissue if we didn’t have an underlying class war.
