    Nice job, they look great. In my experience, though, you either need the patch on the inside or be attentive when putting on the pants. I’ve got one pair I keep ripping open because I hook the patches with my feet. Yet I keep patching them on the outside because now it’d look silly to have half in and half out.

      Patches on the inside change enough of the fabric feel that I can feel where they are while wearing them, I’m probably going to go with a shashiko type thing though on the patches to secure them fully and ensure the holes I’m covering are solidly anchored in place to prevent catching.

      Currently though I’m not getting caught on the holes from the inside but the holes for these ones were much smaller than one of my other pair of pants that need some serious patching.

      I’ve found sashiko-style stitching on and maybe an inch around the patches to work really well in strengthening the patch and surrounding fabric to make that less likely.
