i both agree with you and with him. he also expressed that there’s plenty of other people calling this a turn to fascism and he doesn’t want to dismiss any of them because he thinks there wrong, but he also doesn’t want to give the fascists what they want by feeding hopelessness. like. it’s not the path i would take, but i don’t see it as a wrong path
He flat out chastised those doing so. I dunno if he’s finally come around, but that seriously diminished him in my eyes forever more. When his country desperately needed a unified voice to react the infant stages of a fascist government, he chose to rebuke the criticisms and take the side of “wait until it’s too late”.
