So we’ve reached the minorities-flee-the-country stage.

That was fast. It’s getting Nazier by the minute in this motherfucker…

    also cracking down on immigration

    That’s a false equivalence.
What USA is doing is beyond cracking down on immigration, USA is using Gestapo methods, rounding up people who are in USA legally, and the detained are not allowed to see a judge. It’s completely outside the rules of the American constitution.

Huge difference from using legal means of deporting illegal immigrants, where they have a lawyer and a court decides according to the law of the land.

One is fascist methods, the other is not.

True, though it still makes it harder for my sister to seek asylum when they are cracking down on immigration, no? I didn’t mean to imply that they are equivalent. Of course America is much, much worse.

However, since Canada also seems to be turning right, it’ll more so be a move to delay the inevitable even if she is able to seek asylum. It’d be better than staying here at least, assuming America doesn’t invade Canada for Lebensraum within 4 years.

Then you are blind. I’m pointing out a false equivalence in the comment I responded to. But since apparently it’s possible not to be able to see that, I have now added it to my comment.

So the relevance is that Canada should not be excluded. Almost all industrialized countries are limiting immigration, but you can still seek asylum.

I don’t think it’s a false equivalence. The US is further along, but look at what is going on in other western nations and it’s the same deal. Denying that just because the US is worse will only ensure it happens other places soon
