    Are they still using those old sewers with no treatment/filtration now?

      The Mesopotamians are attributed to the invention of sewers in middle of the Bronze Age.

      The Scottish invented sewage treatment in the 18th century.

        Indus valley had evidence of sewers from 4500 bc according to Wikipedia. The different attributions to the invention of sewers is probably because of the question: at what point is it a sewage system?
