Sorry no photos today, but I had to remove (almost) all my everyday carry, and very carefully climb up the driver’s side. I had to observe my weight distribution as well, not looking to break the sunroof or the windshield obviously.

I only brought one of my EDC tools, my NexTool card tool. That was enough to loosen up the antenna and unscrew it the rest of the way by hand.

I would try to jimmy the window up first. Stick a couple pieces of duck tape to it and give it a yank up while hitting the window up button. If that fails, you’ll probably have to remove enough of that inner panel to reach in with some dykes and nip the cable (you’re replacing it anyways). But most likely they just broke the plastic retainer and it can be pulled up.

Okay, awake and sober now LOL!

Anyways, I’m totally with you on lift it with duct tape, but hell, how do I even get the duct tape on the glass? Its totally fallen in, I might be lucky if I got a ~2-3 millimeter gap…

Wedge something between the window and the felt strip to give yourself a little more room (you don’t need much). I use those plastic pry bars, but anything that won’t scratch is fine. Then use a credit card or something stiff like that to push the tape down threw the crack and against the window. If the window has aftermarket tint, just do the outside. But if not, doing both sides works better.

I’ll have to cross that bridge another day. It’s not our vehicle anyways, it belongs to the neighbor down the road from us.

Unfortunately he’s now paralyzed from a stroke, so he doesn’t drive anymore… ☹️

These ideas are a bit out of reach, though I get ya…

He’s paralyzed on his right side for almost a year now, he doesn’t drive anymore ☹️
