Never said it did. In fact my parents really weren’t, either, but they came from a time where such denigrating terms were much more widely used without people even thinking about it - it was just what they were used to. I mentioned it more to give context for where I learned the term from.
Having Boomer parents unfortunately made me afraid “fruits” was being used as a gay slur before the punchline.
