Oh man, this makes me miss one of my old jobs where we had this $70k laser engraver. I could use it to cut out custom shapes for just about any tool. God was that so satisfying!

Well… I got a laser, but first don’t know what foam that is and wanted to use what I got instead of buying sth And second would have taken so much time to design the exact shapes… The method put tool on foam, cut around with knife was just a lot faster.

Ah, I think we used some kind of closed cell, neoprene foam like this

As for making the shapes, I had a quick and dirty method if I needed something quick. Basically you just trace around the tool on pen and paper, and take a picture of it. Then upload to your favorite vector graphics software (we used Corel Draw), and draw the lines to match!

If you cared enough to make it more precise you could just keep tweaking the lines.
