Yes, it is no longer maintained.

I don’t like to be the “let me google that for you” guy, but this information is searchible in under 30 seconds. There is no point in asking it as a question on a forum
I need to confirm it by anybody as most of the things in internet are unstrustable for me.
I didn’t mean to waste your time by my post. Sorry.
To clarify - checking the official GitHub repository for the status of a project is faster and much more reliable than asking strangers on an internet forum.
most of the things in internet are unstrustable for me.
Why would you trust random people instead of the official Searx repository then? That makes no sense.
@clb92 @Albinjose7345 @privacyguides if we want more people to start their privacy journey and be capable of navigating these waters that change before people can get a chance to get their sealegs, we have to show up with grace & patience. we’re gonna have to show people how to look for accurate, vetted info in a sea of misinfo. it helps no one to approach the situ the way you and @moreeni did
(and i’m not sure why PG is encouraging it by boosting it)
I’m pretty sure that’s just how other ActivityPub platforms see posts in Lemmy/kbin communities. There’s no boosting here and @privacyguides isn’t an user
@Markaos ah, thanks for the heads up. wasn’t aware. still new to the fedi.
Asking the question here allows a conversation to happen, informs others that SearXNG is a thing and provides additional context.
If everyone just looked everything up on their own, there wouldn’t be much of a forum here for you to go and wag your finger at people asking questions.
If you want more reasons about why allowing people to ask questions is beneficial for the health of a community, you can go google it.
Asking the question here allows a conversation to happen, informs others that SearXNG is a thing and provides additional context.
…and all of that is provided in the searx repo, which I linked and, which, as I have said, is easily searchable.
Note that I have never said that asking questions should not be allowed, you made that up.
Asking the question does provide some value, because at least for me this is the first I’ve heard of the discontinuation of maintenance, and I use SearX.
Apparently SearxNG is still developed
deleted by creator
https://searx.space/ SearxNG still exists though
I recently started selfhosting and setup a SearxNG instance and I love it. Before that I used plain old ddg but I find the results even better than on any other search engine I have seen
I am always on the lookout for a good search engine, so far SearxNG is the best for me.
And you can add search engines to SearXNG through the config files. I added Lemmy search.
Yes, but SearXNG is still active.
Librey looks an nice alternative
