Biotech company 23andMe first disclosed a data breach affecting a portion of its customers back in October. The information was obtained in a credential stuffing attack. An SEC filing now reveals roughly 14,000 accounts were accessed, along with information on millions of users participating in the DNA Relatives feature.

    This should be used as a standout example of why, even if you trust a company, you shouldn’t always let them have your data. It just takes one jerk, either from inside the company or outside, to leak all that precious data.

      Yep. I did their test like 5 years ago and after the major hack (or breach or whatever) recently I requested that they delete my info

    yeah I got that email last week. I did a double take and the email was addressed to my daughter. But no one else in our family. 🤔
