In a private meeting with Speaker Mike Johnson last week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused fellow Republican Rep. Richard McCormick of getting physically aggressive with her, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter – a charge that McCormick has denied, saying it was a “friendly gesture.”
Yeah. I don’t think she was “asking for it” or “deserves it” either. That’s the kind of language and mentality used by people like Richard McCormick, the man who assaulted her, and I can’t get behind that. Because once we start cheering violence against women (even the evil ones who call for violence themselves), we effectively become part of the problem. We must do better.
Can we cheer for violence against republicans? I don’t remember anyone having much sympathy for the guy who got restrained by the face on the house floor during the mccarthy kerfuffle.
