It is about being able to be openly gay/bi. In many cultures, being open and proud about being LGBT is something many LGBT people can only dream of.

To me, this reads like the end of a character arc, where the MC has had to repress their LGBT identity for years before walking the path towards finally embracing it. That last panel would be a sweet spot to give the reader a chance to think about how far the character has come.

  • It’s absolutely typical. Here’s an article comparing 31 popular energy drinks. 3 at around 6-8 mg/FlOz, 16 of them are around 10 mg/FlOz, and the other 12 are in the range of 16-18 mg/FlOz.

And how many of them come in a 30oz cup? Or come right up to safe daily intake limits in a single can? A: none of them.

Regarding terminology you might compare “hard lemonade” which has a lot more alcohol in it than is typical for lemonade…

And if a company sold that shit with alcohol levels slamming right against safe daily intake levels in a single cup, and placed that shit right next to their regular lemonade with basically no information on the fact that it contains a shit ton of alcohol, didn’t have an alcohol taste and allowed free refills, they’d be getting lawsuits up the ass for much the same reason.

Regarding the cup size, let me introduce you to the big gulp range with a “shocking” 690 mg per ‘cup’. It’s quite surprising but a larger drink contains more caffeine.

Jesus christ you couldn’t miss the point any harder if you were piss drunk at an archery range.

  • The point is that it doesn’t have any unusual amount of caffeine for an energy drink.

It has a very unusual amount of caffeine for an energy drink, at 13mg per ounce. Red bull is at 9mg and monster is at 10mg.

That, and it was sold as a lemonade, not an energy drink. Lemonade typically has zero caffeine.

Saying it has the limit in a single cup is misleading when the “cup” is not a normal size.

It’s not misleading at all. It’s literally the cup they give you, expect you to consume and then offer free refills on.

Depends what terminology you use. Officially, pedophile means sexually interested in prepubescent children, with a second term, ephebephile, for those with sexual interest in teenagers, but in general usage, ‘pedophile’ usually covers all sexual interest in minors.

So using the official definition you’re correct, as most cases involve teenagers, but most people will just call them pedophiles anyway.

For clarity’s sake, I’ve been using the term pedo in the general sense (all people attracted to minors).

  • I think the worst thing we do is basically shut down non-harmful outs.

We attack therapists who don’t outright vilify non-offending pedos, without considering the fact that said pedos come to them because they don’t want to offend, don’t want to hurt.

If these people don’t have harmless outs, they will instead turn to harmful outs and covering up their crimes.

That pedos shouldn’t be subject to extra-legal punishments. Think being lynched and shit. I also don’t think they should be getting their own special cases in the law beyond those with a clear purpose of preventing reoffending.

Don’t get me wrong, I think they are pure scum.

But things we allow on the basis of the accused being a pedo or terrorist have a habit of spilling over and affecting the general population. A lot of bad laws have made it onto books by blaming these two groups, for example.

  • It is very much about the guns.

Guns are an incredibly efficient killing tool. They can be used at all sorts of ranges, they deal incredible amounts of damage, and can be used again immediately upon firing, provided the gun still has ammo in the magazine. Reloading most guns can also be pretty fast, especially with practice. Handguns are also easy to conceal, and are more than capable of downing an entire room of people.

Some people make the argument that if it wasn’t guns being used, another weapon would be, such as a knife or a truck. And for some murderers this is true, however these methods have limitations that drastically reduce the carnage that can be caused.

Knifes are only really useful up close and personal, and take longer to do damage. That means, after victim #1, the attacker has to run around and catch subsequent victims, who will be fleeing. This puts the attacker at a major fatigue disadvantage if a subsequent victim can defend themselves, or if a third party flanks and engages the attacker during an attack.

Trucks can be used for mass murder, and can certainly rack up high casualty numbers, but they’re only available with a license for this reason, and getting a license isn’t easy. They’re also hella expensive to get your hands on. Once you’ve got that sorted, your viable targets are restricted to places on or near public road. You also need to plan your route because hitting metal or concrete structures can and will total your truck, after which it is game over. Your chances of escaping from this are basically zero, as the moment you stop, your car will be mobbed by cops or survivors trying to get to you, not to mention that crashes are disorienting as fuck.

  • How is any of that the fault of Panera bread? And why can’t you answer that simple question?

I did answer the question. Let me repeat incase you have trouble reading.

They called it lemonade, put it in a lineup among non caffeinated drinks (right next to their regular lemonade), put zero warning labels on and offered free refills on a drink that rode so close to the line of safe daily intakes that having two would cause serious problems even in healthy people.

They basically did everything they possibly could to hide this information. A single line in an ingredients is not sufficient warning because no reasonable consumer would check the ingredients of a lemonade for dangerous levels of caffeine.

The amount in the lemonade was approved by the FDA

Nope! FDA doesn’t actually regulate restaurants, and Charged Lemonade isn’t something that can be bought in store, only at Panera restaurants. FDA officially has no jurisdiction here:

    https://www.fda.gov/food/food-industry/how-start-food-business

Examples of Food businesses NOT regulated by FDA:

Retail food establishments (i.e. grocery stores, restaurants, cafeterias, and food trucks), which are regulated by state and local governments.

    Farmers markets
