  • Couldn’t tell you what the oldest building in my city is, but I assume it’s either an old house in what I assume is the historic district. That, or the clocktower in the downtown park that was once part of a transcontinental railway station.

On a couple side notes, I know I did a class field trip in elementary school to one of the old buildings (don’t remember much about it besides a service elevator that if I recall was just held by rope and wasn’t electric), which compared to other places in America is nothing considering I found out my city was founded around 1881. Can’t say I approve of the part where they fought the natives for the land, but history is full of horrid things so there’s no use dwelling on something you can’t change.

  • I’m personally on the fence about this type of stuff. On one hand, yes I 100% agree about actually keeping kids safer online (not like the politicians “Think of the kids!” type of “safety”). On the other I don’t want anyone to have to give up privacy by having to confirm their age by sending some form of verification, whether that picture/video of ID with birth date on it or having an AI that will inevitably get so many false positives judge you, just to access a service online.

  • I don’t believe it’s cursed at all, but my parents and older brother believe some small Japanese statue doll thing of a geisha (supposed to be holding a shamisen, but it’s missing) that they ended up giving to me to store in my room is cursed. Since I don’t think it’s cursed, I have no issue holding onto it.

Showed up one day on the dinner table one day and I’m fairly certain my brother got it and was either too drunk or high on weed (or a combo of both) to remember picking it up while he was out. I don’t believe him when he says he doesn’t know where it came from.

  • The biggest issue with Mozilla if they didn’t decide to put some form of AI stuff in Firefox is that their competitors could use it as ammunition to fuel an as campaign painting Firefox as not only out of touch and outdated, but less secure because they don’t have AI security.

I can guarantee if average person, like my middle aged parents who aren’t very tech savvy, saw an ad pointing that out (no matter how untrue it is) I’d be told about it the next chance they got, proving they believe it.

They have to keep up with what their competitors are doing or get left behind and die a slow and painful death. AI is just the latest trend to be added, and Mozilla is just trying to keep up to ensure whatever remainder of normies still use Firefox don’t decide to abandon ship.

I personally don’t like it, but what other options are there?

  • Definitely would have to cut parts and make serious edits if they made a remake of the original instead of the upcoming sequel, but Beetlejuice.

The slit wrist joke would definitely be cut. The ghost advisor woman who smokes through her neck would most likely be on the chopping block due to the decline of smoking. The scene where Beetlejuice is stuck on the diorama and goes to the hooker/strip club(?) would probably be out. And the scene that would without a doubt be completely removed or reworked entirely no questions asked in a modern remake would be the scene with the centuries old creep Beetlejuice trying to marry an underage teenager.
