  • They are their own breed of Christian but that doesnt change the fact that religion has its play in global warming. You also have evangelicals who think allowing the world to fall apart will bring the rapture so they can all just go to heaven with their sky daddy. Then you also have the ones who dont think they should be changing anything because its all a part of God’s plan. Relgion has a major play in the warming of the planet to think otherwise is very daft.

  • Copyright doesn’t create incentives for innovation it creates incentives for stagnation. It’s a guaranteed profit window for a static solution. Competition is what breeds innovation as you need to have the best product for its cost to capture market share. As copyright is inherently an anti-competitive practice only there to minimize risk it reduces innovation in favor of stable profits. Just because r&d costs money it doesnt mean that supply chains and production are handed to competitors for free. Its just a tool to minimize risk for venture capital because those who lobbied for it wanted to protect their assets from risk exposure and did so at the expense of consumers and innovation through lobbying. Removing it wouldnt stop people from creating solutions or trying to invent new products. Those who do the r & d always have a leg up as they have the research available to them for tweaking there process or final output that a competitor would not.

  • Probably because historically the patriarchy took away women’s rights to be able to choose mates and had years and years of arranged marriages. Then couple that with women being in those forced relationships who could not chose their partners looking for comfort outside of the inhumane treatment of forced marriages and you get societal pressures that taught women they dont get a say in romantic relationships and as such them showing interest had to be covert as it was typically to those outside their prescribed marriage and if caught they could at the very least be socially disowned or at worst be literally killed for it. So yeah im not surprised women have a tendency to be less obvious about it its only very recently in human history that they got to have a say in finding partners.

  • The banks can also technically short the stock as well once the buyout was public, knowing how shit the deal was they can make money on the downside at the expense of all the pensions, 401ks etc that had initially bought the stock. There also isnt a limit that prevents shorting the stock more than shares are in existence. Hence why the gamestop situation was close to breaking the whole stock market a few years back when they started turning everything around for the companies bottom line. With the stock now able to make it think a bout a billion more shares over time the out for the short side has been sort of given without completely nuking the market. But as when the shares are diluted is up to the board it allows gamestop to take advantage of the short side to create more cash on hand for themselves threw timing their market offerings to coincide with when swaps that are housing those shorts come due. In the toys r us case the executives and board were happy to take their golden parachute from the buyout and let ordinary people’s pensions and 401ks carry the bag for them in the form of the stock going to zero and eventually being delisted from the market.

  • But why would roll be inverted? For planes you just need to think about the fact you are controlling the airplanes pitch not the camera view, which is why my camera controls are always regular in flight games but then obviously the y axis for flight is inverted. Pitch left roll left, pitch right roll right, pitch forward go down, pitch back go up. I.e. If you tilt the plane to the left it rolls to the left, if you tilt it to the right it rolls to the right, if you tilt the plane back it changes the attitude of the flight path to bring you higher same thing in reverse for pitching forward. I agree with your last statement for fps/tps games though unless both are inverted for camera it just doesnt make any logical sense and instead are trying to map flight controls to a head which just completely looses me.

  • Here is the comment I was replying to which was calling out the natural talent portion stating its only about their money and training to get in and max just isnt the one to try and prove that with:

Try watching F1 and hearing “natural talent” in the context of men who had done 30,000 hours of karting before they could walk. Max Verstappen was built from the ground up to be a racer. I don’t think these people are bad, but they definitely have it easy going up against one of the smallest playing fields in all of sports.

They were specifically calling out max stating he doesnt have natural talent besides his parents money. Max is not a great example from the grid for that, he won the natural talent lottery and rich parents lottery that allowed him the ability to compete and use that natural talent. Almost every single person on the grid has had the same training and time to practice as max has had yet no one really can drive like he can.

Like the last portion of my comment stated f1 is obviously a rich man’s sport, there isnt any denying that but you can have an easier time demonstrating that by calling out anyone but the generational talent that made it in, like idk cough cough lance stroll. If money wasnt a factor you would get more talent like max in the sport but we can acknowledge that max has the talent to back his position even if in that sport money is what will be the ultimate deciding factor on whether you can even sit at the table to prove it.

  • Eh I think you would have a bigger point with someone like lance stroll, max definitely has a massive edge from all the karting but he is objectively someone with a natural talent that got those additional competitive advantages which has set him up to be a once and a generation type driver. Plus I kinda feel bad for max when you hear about the stories of his dad vicariously living through him as a kid and pushing him till his hands were cold and numb on the kart giving him like a 5 minute break to warm his hands slightly and then have him continue to do laps. But yeah modern f1 is a good example of a rich man’s sport, the shear cost to get to the point of just the feeder series disqualifies so many people who could compete and be rivals to the likes of max but due to not having the funding from a young age they are just completely ineligible to even try to compete.
