This reminds me of the movie where Cheetah (voiced by Claudia Black) laced WW with a toxin that made WW see everyone as Cheetah, causing her to fight until she nearly died of exhaustion, if not for the timely intervention of Cyborg

Not OP but I have the same phobia of earthworms and hanging green caterpillars (and millipedes to a lesser extent) - I just involuntarily feel that lines that squiggle on their own are creepy. Now if those lines had distinguishable eyes then I’m not as creeped out (i.e. snakes)
I also don’t like broken rubber bands (the red and yellow kinds)
Same - Planescape Torment is my personal greatest RPG ever made
I placed my entire hand on a hot iron. For more than a few seconds - super dumb and ignorant.
Ended up having my entire hand wrapped in bamdages.
I discovered Planescape Torment a few years ago - I can see how it would be impactful to a younger me. Even now I can still remember the moment the Undying One gave his answer to Ravel’s infamous question against the backdrop of the Fortress of Regret’s OST playing gives me a chill
Singapore - Mother Tongue is a compulsory subject to take up until Uni. Being classified as Chinese racially, I had to take Mandarin during my formative years - but I’m still not good at it lol
Interesting - in Singapore the widespread expectation in 2025 (at least among the elderly) is to get a plastic bag / food containers (sometimes multiple) from the shop whenever one buys something. Albeit since 2020 these now cost 5 & 30 cents respectively
Virtual Lego Assembler; the Virtual Legos are Libraries / PaaS APIs
Some days do be like that tbh
Thanks - eventually I just did my usual routine, but slightly later than usual. Wasn’t able to go back to sleep, both before and after exercising. It’s afternoon now and my head feels slightly heavy and my legs feel slightly “minty fresh” (sciatica).
I did think about just going for the exercise when it was 4am, but it’s always the question of “if I let go of exercising at 0630 would I finally be able to sleep / what if I could have actually slept more if I hadn’t woke up now” that gets me
What a memeable picture ; just need to remove that helicopter
Misread the first two words - thought it said YOUR DONG
As someone that had a sterile childhood of all work and fenced play - that sounds like an amazing and well-lived childhood, for the most part.
I feel down. I haven’t felt happy in a long while / few months. The danger of depression is there but I believe I’m not at that stage yet.
I’m down because I’ve made no progress at a project for work for a few months now. Everything seems to be breaking and out of my control, it’s a bit tiresome to deal with. Plus the Tariffs have derailed whatever FI plans I had, so I’m pretty much stuck here.
During lunch with my colleagues today some of them expressed that my home country is desirable to live in from a security and convenience perspective (from Singapore). But Singapore is also soul-less and boring, and that irks me. I still want to have the chance to live overseas in a cooler and more relaxed climate, but yeah with the job market being shit and tariffs ruining everything, I might be stuck in Singapore for life.
Hello, reporting from Singapore :)
Thank you :) And good to hear that you’re doing well - haven’t experienced that feeling in a long while.
I guess I’ll try and sleep early tonight to sleep off the pain, after doing a few rounds of stretches to relieve the tension.
Urgh, feeling down. I think I slept in the wrong position and now my lower right leg is throbbing and feels warm, and my sciatica feels weird. It’s giving me a headache.
Worse part is, I need to revise for a tech interview tomorrow and this weird pain is going to waste my day today. Sigh
Local SG here, as far as I know direct underground connections between buildings are only common within the city area - head to the heartlands / fringes and you’ll see some sunlight
I tried Google Maps Live View (i.e. AR View) to navigate underground, but it’s a hit or miss.
Side question - how do people get the opportunity to move so easily? I work in Tech and the market is brutal right now
