You’re being deliberately obtuse, but for other readers: the official Whitehouse Twitter account posted a video of deportations with the caption “ASMR: Illegal Alien Deportation Flight.” Regardless of whether you support deportation plans or not, the caption is undignified and childish, unbecoming of speech from an official government office. Regardless of anything, you should understand that making light of a person’s life being uprooted is demonstrative of a callous disregard for humanity. In other words, this is despicable.
The comments here reveal that no one actually read the first two sentences of the article. Kind of embarrassing.
Sorry I haven’t had my coffee and might have missed it, but did either commenter you replied to say people deserve to be put in camps?
Can confirm. Am public employee. My shit is public.
This was an interesting read, thanks for sharing.
You’re probably being down voted because of the presumption that we’re not doing things. Protests, calling representatives, boycotts, mutual aid networks, etc. Some of us work directly in politics or directly in government, and do what we can in those spaces, too.
It’s kind of irritating to get a finger-wagging admonition when you’re exploring all options short of outright assassination. And if the suggestion is to just start shooting, well, I think it’s asking more than you think for someone to choose to become a killer.
