I think the decades of family and social pressure telling me that my appearance defined my self worth which I experienced when I was raised as a girl is the reason I wear a hat to cover my balding head, thanks for asking!
Friend, I am trans, I could reproduce if I wanted to with a dude (I absolutely do not want to). I’m also already married to a gay man, so my rainbow hat is not to pick people up, it’s to cover up my balding head. :p
I don’t oppose DIY HRT in the slightest, I just wish that when people are talking about it there was a little more acknowledgment that DIY is a LOT more dangerous (legally) for people using testosterone.
There’s a lot of ‘just buy it online!’ which makes sense for estrogen, because as far as I know the only risk of importing that for personal use in the US is it getting confiscated by customs. In comparison testosterone is a schedule III drug, in the same class as ketamine and opium. Just possessing it without a prescription is a crime, and if someone even has more than a 30 day supply in some states they can end up in prison.
Tl;dr: DIY good, testosterone laws bad, please keep us trans men and trans mascs in your thoughts 😔
(TW for self harm and suicide)
During the first Bush presidency I tried to kill myself, and obviously failed. I also engaged in a lot of self harm that I still carry the scars of today.
You need community, and you need joy. Those can get you through almost anything. It will get you through plague and death and suffering.
That doesn’t mean “just have a good time and ignore everything”, it means support the people who need you and take care of yourself as well, and reach out for help when you can’t.
I mean, are straight people who are normal about it clamoring for the title to begin with? This seems like a problem invented basically entirely by the whiners. You could just as easily say it affects gay people who want an ironic title, or straight trans people, but for obvious reasons the whiners don’t really care about that.
All that said I have no idea what the price tag means in terms of gameplay time to acquire it. If it’s unachievable without 10 hours of grinding or something that’s a little mean, but not enough that I really care.
(Edit: accidentally a word)
It’s okay to take context into account and not just look at it as a math problem. Targeting a minority isn’t the same as doing it to people who make up 90% of society but are whiny.
Plenty of times someone’s sexuality is held above someone’s head, quite literally in the case of this casual fishing game where I feel it doesn’t even slightly belong
As a gay dude with a rainbow hat IRL this made me lol. I’m not wearing it to pick people up, I’m wearing it because I’m not ashamed of who I am. It’s not any different from wearing a wedding ring, couples shirts, or any of the million other displays of heterosexuality that you see and don’t think anything about.
PS: even if you are gay, internalized homophobia is a thing. Feeling that it’s super inappropriate to mention that you’re gay unless you want to fuck someone falls under that.
I live in southern CA and burritos are cheap ✌️ Once a week it’s nice to not have to cook.
I’m just telling you it’s a bad idea to go tell a Mexican or Brazilian or anyone else not in the US or Canada that they’re part of the US hegemony ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don’t think they’d love being told by a tourist what the US did to their countries.
Yeah, I tend to default to assuming non troll for this reason. The rewards of the best case scenario (correctly recognizing a troll) simply don’t outweigh the consequences of the worst case scenario (calling someone who went through a traumatic experience a troll because you’re too online).
If I’m wrong, then all I’ve done is put out good vibes and hopefully something useful for other people.
If you haven’t talked to a therapist about this, please do so. Even if you were physically ‘fine,’ what you’re describing would be pretty traumatic for most people. Feeling guilty about defending yourself is totally normal, even though it was completely justified and there was every reason to believe he was trying to kill you. It means you’re a normal person with empathy who doesn’t just want to stab people.
I’ve only been fortunate enough to travel abroad once before, but my experience had nothing like what you’re worried about. The worst that happened was almost getting scammed at the airport, which is something you’ll have to worry about in imperial core countries too. People were either kind or neutral to our presence.
to me; all of the cultures that speak both languages belong to the same hegemony as the american empire
Ummm perhaps do not tell Central/South Americans this while visiting their country, lol.
Oh man, do you think spilling some FBS once is what cursed me? I think that might be what cursed me.
Basically every country has their own sign language or an imported sign language that became standardized.
But learning any sign language will make it a lot easier for you to communicate with signers of any sign language. Not because they’re necessarily similar to each other, but because sign language varies a lot regionally anyway (and even locally depending on what method of signing you’re taught) and it will be much more natural to find ways to work around it and communicate with each other.
Re: bullet point 2, that’s called a familect if you weren’t already aware. I just love that word and that it’s a thing, because it feels like nobody really acknowledges how widespread it is. We just all walk around having our own secret languages only our loved ones understand.
Same for my parents’ house when I was growing up, except that’s just how they chose to lay it out.
It’s not nothing for sure, but statistically it’s almost impossible that all of that represents uninformed voters. Children and people ineligible to vote can also do internet searches. So with that in mind, to my eye this doesn’t represent that a significant portion of the voting public had no idea Biden wasn’t running before Election Day.
Some people are so sucked up in a COVID denialist media bubble they can’t help themselves. Seeing a mask isn’t just seeing someone minding their own damn business, it’s evidence of an existential threat to society.
Yeah, it’s stupid as shit, but that’s how they function. Nonreaction or minimal reaction as you’ve been doing is definitely the way to go. Anyone confronting you over a mask in public is probably not stable enough to have a discussion or argue with.
The spike when you zoom out to the past year:
There are uninformed voters for sure, but always be suspicious of stories that confirm your biases a bit too much.
