I see this a lot in VA. They are constantly hauling modular houses or heavy equipment over Afton mountain on 64. People try to pass, but get nervous when beside the trucks and slow to a crawl. I don’t get how they feel safer hovering beside it rather than getting past it into the clear.

It’s basically just a drop in configuration to make it look and feel more like the Photoshop interface. Can you accomplish the same with tinkering? Sure. Do I want the spend all day trying to make it look pretty when I need to actually be working in the software? Hell no. Just drop in the plugin and get to work. It has it’s place. It would be less necessary if GIMP default layout didn’t suck right out of the box.

I bet you didn’t misjudge. People have a bad habit of speeding up when someone tries to pass them. I’ve been stuck at 60 behind a driver in a 70 zone and as soon as I start passing the asshat speeds up to 75 in the cruising lane.

I’ve been using Photo Gimp plugin with it for years. Otherwise the interface would be an absolute mess.

For the PC Monitor issue: To prevent this sort of behavior. Open Group Policy Editor Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>System>Device Installation Prevent automatic downloads of applications associated with device metadata = Set to Enable.

To get rid of it once installed you have to remove it from the Windows Store since it’s an app, not an installed program. For me, this was not possible as there was no way presented to uninstall it in the app store. I had to do it from terminal with this command, which could vary a bit depending on the exact app version:

I live alone and don’t eat out. I spend about $30-$40 a week on groceries. These restaurants can all burn to the ground. It’s just overpriced slop. I make better food for less money and don’t care about the “social experience” they seem to bank on. We all need to find other ways than stuffing greasy garbage into our face holes to have a social interaction.

That’s the problem we have locally. No one wants these things, but local government keeps trying to push them through anyway because all they see is tax dollars.

I’m stuck with Windows for the same reasons. I do use Linux on my laptop though and would not be opposed to switching my office machine to it as well if I can get the company I work for to make a few key software changes. I’ve had older generations of my family running Linux Mint for nearly a decade. They don’t know the difference because it’s all they’ve ever used. I have less phone calls about problem from these people than any Windows users I’ve had to deal with.
