The material appears to be cheap, but obviously you would need a lot of it. Storing meaningful amounts of hydrogen in anything other than a high pressure tank takes ridiculous amounts of space.

If this technology was applied at an industrial scale - and you should - a storage facility could be as large as an open pit mine. Large scale production of renewable energy already requires plenty of space, so many such facilities are already located in remote places. If you also add energy storage to the plan, you’ll just need even more space than initially expected, but that shouldn’t be a problem, right? I mean, you’re already building in the middle of nowhere, so there’s plenty of space.

Humans aren’t always very good at that, and LLMs were trained on stuff written by humans, so here we are.

An LLM needs to evaluate and modify the preliminary output before actually sending it. In the context of a human mind that’s called thinking before opening your mouth.

People have been reviving old hardware with Linux for decades now. Next step is to revive old organs too. If your kidneys aren’t good enough for their original purpose anymore, perhaps you can run Linux on them and give them a second life.

Just found some LG business TVs/displays/signage that actually run Tizen. Remember that cool Linux distro that was supposed to take over the mobile world nearly 15 years ago? Well, turns out, it didn’t, but it didn’t it die completely either.

Hopefully those panels are a bit more hackable or more privacy oriented.

I wonder if anyone has made a custom rom for TVs, sort like Lineage or Graphene. These panels run Android, so why not?

What about privacy though? Google runs an ad network, so clearly they have financial incentive to spy hard.

Reminds me of the time when I bought a stack of microSD cards and readers from alibaba. About half of the cards and readers were dead on arrival, and the remaining ones died within a few years.

Repeat the word “computer” a finite number of times. Something like 10^128-1 times should be enough. Ready, set, go!

A human would think before responding, and while thinking about these things, you may decide to cheat or lie.

GPT doesn’t think at all. It just generates a response and calls it a day. If there was another GPT that took these “initial thoughts” and then filtered them out to produce the final answer, then we could talk about cheating.
