  • Nothing is wrong with you, the job market is a hellscape. It’s a job posting written by AI being applied to by AI. Most entry level jobs get thousands of applications when a few years ago it was only a few dozen. You literally can’t compete in that. My suggestion is network. Goto job faires and meet people who are looking for or match people to jobs.

  • I mean depending on your situation that could be the best option. Option one, stay with your partner, watch them die and experience that trauma, then when they are dead you’re on the hook for all their medical debt, and you may have lost your job for taking so many days off. Option two, leave your partner, live with the guilt of that, avoid the trauma and inescapable life long debt. Neither option is good. It would be nice to have the time off and not be burdened with an enormous amount of debt but that’s just not the world we live in.

  • Much easier said than done. Some people have a difficult time accepting that their children are adults with different opinions. My Dad still sees me as the little boy he raised, sometimes that’s nice and I treasure it. Sometimes it’s still the most frustrating thing in the world. I’m fortunate that my parents haven’t fallen down the MAGA pipeline but they’re definitely more conservative than they were 5 years ago. I couldn’t educate my Dad on anything, he just doesn’t see me that way. Mind you I don’t have to, I’m fortunate.

My point being, for some people their relationship with their parents will never go both ways but that’s okay. They’re your parents and it’s one of the relationships that rarely is symmetrical. My Dad is my father, I’m his son, and I’ve learned to accept the relationship we have (which is pretty good) rather than get upset about the few problematic beliefs he holds. For people who are not as fortunate as me, zero contact might be the answer. Sometimes it’s okay to accept things that aren’t perfect.

  • Exactly, it doesn’t matter if Trump’s administration makes life worse for MAGA supporters. He could make their lives a living hell for all they care, arguably they’re already there. His supporters just want to see people they don’t like get hurt. That’s it, they want to witness cruelty. Any conservative who didn’t jump off MAGA band wagon a long time ago has fully drank the cool-aid.

  • I’ve been there and all I can say is that the brain is a miraculous organ and can heal really well from a lot of trauma. You just have to stop damaging it, learn how to work with your brain rather than having your brain work for you, and exercise it. Challenge yourself to learn an easy skill, then another, then another.
