You develop a cheat and it works, then get banned the moment you use it in a competitive game? Or banned on a delay to make it harder to tell if it was detected automatically or on a manual review.

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube’s AI slop detector incorrectly targets Kurzgesagt as other creators fear same fate - DexertoEnglish
21·28 days agoAs AI gets better this is increasingly true too. Back when it was irregular fingers it was a lot easier. And tbh, there is plenty of AI content I don’t really mind.
Its often ok. It doesn’t have to be great if there is little to no high quality human made content to compare it to in the same niche. I don’t think any human artists have made an album about the Isstvan massacre.
What percentage of players even do those competitive things though? Surely you could have an option to turn the orwellian anticheats off for regular players and only enabled for
the sweaty wankerscompetitive players.

Memes@sopuli.xyz•*landbastard intensifies at the right of replacing a 2 dollar light switch".English
0·1 month agoThis is why I treat it like a rental. When I was renting my deposit was 10 days of rent and I didn’t expect to get it back because I knew from someone else leaving that the landlord was a wanker.
I started homebrewing when I lived there, had a batch explode and splatter honey water all across the room. I quickly learnt to avoid the patches of carpet that were sticky. Knowing that the landlord wouldn’t repay the deposit without me taking him to court anyway, I didn’t bother cleaning it up.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How would you go about getting your town to plant more trees?English

Tbh where I work asking someone their favourite dinosaur would probably start a multiple hour long discussion/argument.

15·2 months agoWhy? I have an nvidia card and haven’t noticed any major issues. It hasn’t even bricked the system on a driver update in years now.
Surely you learn an area pretty quickly. Worst case you may ask what major road something is near and you would know that and then can quickly look at the map to find the small road. Like I say my street name and if someone asks where about is that I give them the name of the major road next to it.

6·2 months agoYes. Interpreting downvotes is dumb.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do You Disregard People IRL who You Know ask AI everything?English
3·2 months agoDepends what it’s used for. Coworkers use it to generate memes a fair bit. I also use it as a starting point for looking stuff up occasionally, partly because so many fucking websites are AI generated now I may as well ask a more direct question to AI instead. Then once I have a more specific answer I can look that up somewhere more reliable.
Recent example there being looking up things to grow in my allotment, give general goals and conditions and get a list of things. Then see what sounds interesting from that list and look that up on the RHS website.
You normally can’t see the bottom when it’s deep though. What difference does it make if it’s 2m or 200m?
Sea around here is so murky you can barely see past 1m anyway so rarely have any idea how deep it is unless you can touch it.
Lemmy doesn’t charge you per character. It md sns bk wn u hd t py pr SMS nd typ lk ds. It doesn’t make sense anymore.
Yeah, and I kinda get it. But it’s annoying when I cannot buy a game for someone else because of it. Even if I was willing to pay the price in their region instead of mine.
But… How do they pay for the finest black market goods if they don’t have a wallet to carry cash around?

I quite like coop games, cheating isn’t an issue. If someone cheats so what, I just don’t play with them and stick with people that don’t cheat.
Or you get some mods that are more of a grey area and then its just checking when you start the lobby what your friends are happy with. Today we are using the pink dildo of consequence mod, good with everyone? Cool, lets go.
