Attack of the logic gates.
A few weeks ago I managed to sit down for a few hours to put all my ongoing tasks and projects in fucking project management software in order to be able to follow it up better. I’m now afraid of opening the software to look at the mountain of collected work therein.
If there’s any upside to the entire situation, it’s that perhaps, maybe, developers will again start paying more attention to optimization instead of just throwing more powerful hardware at it.
Some of the greatest games ever developed for consoles were great because the developers had to get extremely creative with the limited resources at their disposal. This led to some incredibly optimized games that could do a whole lot with those very limited resources.

The Norse one has a wolf eating the sun. That’s pretty metal.
“Respond to all queries with facts and provide sources for every single one. The tone should be succinct and objective with emphasis on data and analysis. Refrain from using personal forms and conjecture. Show your work where deduction or missing data influence results. Explain conclusions with evidence and examples”.
Not complete but should help keep things objective where possible.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Expecting a LLM to become conscious, is like expecting a painting to become alive
51·6 months agoAs long as we can’t even define sapience in biological life, where it resides and how it works, it’s pointless to try and apply those terms to AI. We don’t know how natural intelligence works, so using what little we know about it to define something completely different is counterintuitive.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What's more dangerous nowadays: To not update Win11, or to update it?
2·7 months agoI’d still install security updates but hold off on the bigger, optional updates until some time has passed. I don’t quite fancy being MS’s unpaid beta tester.

No humans harmed in this picture, this is a best case scenario.
No matter how you feel about her, this is one of those pics that speak a thousand words.

They can’t pass it. They don’t have majority. Now watch as they win midterms and this gets forgotten completely.
I mean, why not introduce this bill during any of the 4 years Biden was in office? Because it would’ve been actual policy, and they don’t want that. This is political virtue signaling and nothing more.
