I was taught that negative numbers should be written as (-2) with the parentheses when using exponents. So I assume that the calculators are doing it right, or maybe it’s just a measure against calculators doing it wrong? I cannot be sure. Also-2 = 0-2 so -2^2 = 0-2^2.

No, you’d expect that -2^2 would equal 4, but calculators solve it as -(2)^2 not (-2)^2. But the case you mentioned is also pretty common.

I don’t think you encounter this one very often, but the technically correct -2^2 = -4 has a higher chance of ruining your day.

My Casio calculators get this wrong, even the newer ones. BTW the correct answer is 16, right?

At 0:16 he says “وَدّعْ” sounds like "wad-di’ " it means “say goodbye”. The hostages haven’t even entered the vehicle yet, and the militant helping them to get in starts waving. I slowed it down to 0.5, but I still cannot hear what’s said at 0:17.

This article is pretty shit; clearly biased and doesn’t provide any evidence.

The video shows Hamas members saying “bye bye” repeatedly while waving, and there’s no evidence for what the article claims. So you’re expected to take the word of the publishers for it. The website has the Israeli rag in it’s logo. It’s up to you to decide if you do or do not blindly trust it.

Keep in mind that the hostages Hamas releases are consistently shown to be in good condition, while Palestinian prisoners who have been imprisoned for no reason (practically hostages) are more often than not subject to torture. One group is acting as a terrorist organization would, and thinks it’s “gross” to show how much better the actual terrorist organization is.

The video doesn’t show that, the article isn’t better. Where do they show them instructing the hostages?

In the real one it’s “jumps”, but “jumped” sounds more right.
