Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is CCleaner still people's preferred computer cleaning app?
71·3 years agoProbably for the same reason someone would run it on Windows. It has both a Windows and Linux version.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Why you should never use Facebook or Google to log in to third party websites - what to do instead
19·3 years agoWhat caught me most off guard was him saying that OAuth somehow grants sites access to your camera. That’s a permission controlled by the browser and not at all related to OAuth.
“them/their hills” sounds like “them there hills”, which is a different (somewhat improper) way to say “those hills”.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You've been instantly teleported two feet to the left. How does this affect you?
5·3 years agoI’m currently sitting in the leftmost seat of a bus, so I suppose I’ll get injured pretty badly from colliding with the road at high speed, and possibly be run over by a car.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the simplest thing humans are too dumb to grasp?
2·3 years ago0.333… represents 0.3 repeating, which has an infinite number of 3s and is exactly equal to 1/3.
There’s probably some distribution of mass that would result in uniform gravity across the whole disk. I’m guessing there would need to be more mass near the edge to counteract the diagonal pull of the mass near the center on the area near the edge.
A few times a day it rolls 3 dice (that’s the rattling sound you hear) and if they all come up six an update is needed.
x++; // Set x to the incrementation of the value of x

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If there was an afterlife, how would it work?
1·3 years agoIIRC the amount of humans who have ever lived is estimated at around 100 billion, much more than the current population of 8 billion.
You’re right, though IIRC there’s no functional difference when comparing to None (other than speed).

Technology@lemmy.world•Youtube has started to artificially slow down video load times if you use Firefox. Spoofing Chrome magically makes this problem go away.
193·3 years agoNot happening for me currently, but that definitely sounds like something Google would do. Good thing Firefox lets you easily change your user agent.
Nah I’d rather just guess what device to
ddto.

politics @lemmy.world•How a retiree rallied neighbors to scuttle a multistate carbon pipeline
6·3 years agoApparently yes, the article links to another article about a leak. https://huffpost.com/entry/gassing-satartia-mississippi-co2-pipeline_n_60ddea9fe4b0ddef8b0ddc8f
You have to pronounce it like “Buh-twoss”.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How far can Lemmy support nested comments? Let's find out
1·3 years agoI guess this is the limit.

I’m in Minnesota, USA. I’m also using kbin, but it’s federating with Lemmy, so I guess I’m using Lemmy?
