I don’t dare to click it because I have seen gore twice the last few weeks due to Lemmy, but I kind of want to know what it is.
They should apply everywhere :)
You can block both NSFW and bot posts in your account settings. I do the former, but I don’t want to miss out on the good bots so I just block the bad ones individually. Then, memes usually stay in the meme communities and it is quite easy to block those.
Hey, you’re on the Fediverse. You’ll rarely see anyone promote anything that isn’t decentralised, even less that is not FOSS.
We do not make up for 50% of the active users.
I remember it used to be higher, now it is approx. 41%. Only strengthens my point, though.
Alsof we have plenty of moderators and admins, reports get handled pretty fast.
I see different things. There are quite some trolls and abusive accounts that don’t seem to get removed.
And we will never close registrations.
I’m just saying the moderation has to improve in some way.
I guess that is what people coming from corporate social media believe, but federation means that anyone, regardless the size of the instance, can interact with anything. When I switched from lemm.ee to Mander, which is a lot smaller, my user experience barely changed aside from that I can now browse science communities with ‘local’.

There are a lot of subreddits that have set up their own Lemmy communities. There’s not much hindering them.
Friendica, Mobilizon and Hubzilla can all be compared to Facebook. I have an accound on Friendica and I like how well it supports federation with all Fediverse platforms, from Mastodon to Lemmy.
I think the thought is good, but overall I believe in growing the Fediverse as an independent community. People will also not see the appeal if it seems like we rely on other platforms. What I do think we can do to address the content issue is to improve integration with other Fediverse platforms such as Mastodon, since they are already compatible and have the necessary userbase.
It isn’t a client, it’s a frontend. You’re not registered and you’re not contributing to traffic. If you really want to leave leave reddit so much, it seems illogical to bring it here.

Together, they make up a bit more less than 50% of active users, yet basically all far-right trolls are from there. You could say it is more difficult to moderate big instances, but if you have more users to moderate, you should also increase moderating capacity or close registrations.
I have never used Reddit so I don’t know what experience it is you want, but couldn’t you achieve the same thing in a better way by browsing on Teddit?
Agreed. Lemmy is different from Reddit in that there are not enough users to have a self-sustaining community in every niche, and therefore we must all help preventing them all from collapsing and everything just becoming memes and shitposts.
You can see global active users and local subscribers, which is enough for me, since people on my instace are more likely to have the same interests. If I need global stats, though, there is https://browse.feddit.de/

I dunno though. Most trolls and bad actors that I have seen around here have indeed been from sh.itjust.works and Lemmy World.
Edit: Ah, that explains it. Beehaw is such a chill place, I could never imagine them doing such things.
From https://beehaw.org/post/567170 (regarding reasons for defederation from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works)
the disproportionate number of moderator actions we take against users of these two instances, and the general amount of time we have to dedicate to bad actors on those two instances;
Although Mastodon plus web client phanpy.social is arguably even more modern. But I encourage supporting smaller projects such as Iceshrimp!
