Don’t collect pull tabs. This is an urban legend that won’t seem to die. I’ve seen people with buckets of these things. Useless. They’re worth less than just getting the CRV or the recycled weight of aluminum in the whole can and just donating the money. Maybe once in a while someone might offer some cash-per-tab thing as one-off event, but I could find no charity accepting them as a form of direct donation.

Don’t collect tabs, people. Just get the CRV and donate that if you want to make a donation.

As much as love the clarity of modern high resolution LCD, I still miss the slightly fuzzy effect CRTs had on the displayed graphics. It was almost artificial AA. When I play old games I wonder why they look crappy. It’s because I can see the sharp edges vs the “soft filter” the CRT added.

This looks AI. Inconsistent focus, scale of cats is different, lights on “rig” are inconsistent, where’s all the LAN and power cables? Who builds a bitcoin mine in a weird tunnel?

CEO: has lunch and answers a phone call. “I’m working!” Writes a proposal from a yacht “I’m working!” Goes golfing with industry buddies. “I’m working!” Paid tens of millions not including stock options. Spends time in the c-suite. Actually is working. Writes a letter about his cubicle slaves who are chained to their cubicle at work, their phone at home, unable to actually use PTO due to fear of negative performance reviews, working 50+ hours on the clock and uncounted hours off the clock “You need to work more!!” With their pay and benefits constantly under assault by managers.

Not trying to contradict, just add a little updating and nuance.

The first two lines weren’t true until more recently. Becoming a pilot was expensive, but not out of reach. You could literally do it by earning money fueling planes up until ~20 years ago. Also, you didn’t get paid shit up until 10 years ago and they started desperately throwing money at new pilots to hire and keep them. Even some larger airlines paid like shit for newer pilots depending on aircraft for a really long while.

The dream was to make it to a major and put enough years in to make the big money.

But in the last decade things have really changed. Pay is decent even for a lot of the smaller aircraft (but not great, depending). But training costs are outrageous compared to 25-35 years ago.

I left myself after being shouted down over criticizing a game for restricting player kits. The game was more fun without the restrictions, but fuck me for wanting more freedom in player classes.
