I am currently reading a collection of short stories titled Lake of Souls by Ann Leckie.
They’re all in the sci-fi genre, and they have been pretty interesting so far.

I’m not OP, or a mod, but I shall say yes!
Nitrux is the only thing keeping me sane in this world and I’m still here waiting for my return and the next time I’ll be able to buy the new one
I honestly went into the post just to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me. It’s very good news indeed!
So not even any consideration of voting 3rd party? The concept that voting 3rd party is throwing away your vote is perpetuated by the 2 parties that want to stay in power. It’s easier to focus on one opponent, but the more people become comfortable with other options, the harder it is for the 2 parties to bullshit their way into power.
Buy an electric bicycle and use the money you would have spent on a car to run for a seat for local office on the platform to improve local transit infrastructure
I recently finished a classic sci-fi book, Second Foundation by Isaac Asimov. It is part of The Foundation book series. I started the original first book about 7 years ago and have come back to the series every few years. They’re pretty interesting and can see why they are considered classics.
If you want to try some niche music service there is resonate.coop which encourages exploration by making it cheap to listen to a song once. However, if you like the song and keep going back to it it will be considered “purchased” and you will no longer be charged when you listen to it. Last I checked there was no offline mode for purchased songs but they were working on it.
I advocate to expand people’s thinking of the fantasy genre beyond the usual Euro-centric elves, dwarves, and wizards type stuff.
As such, a fantasy book I recommend is based off of Persian magic and setting is called The Wrath and the Dawn. It is based off of the Arabian Nights legend of that region.
Well, my other recommendation is not a book because it was a web comic, BUT, it fits the fantasy genre. What makes it unique is the fantasy elements are based off of Aztec gods and magic. It is called Leyendas: https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/leyendas/list?title_no=63874
There is another fantasy web comic with middle eastern elements called Suihira The City of Water: https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/suihira-the-city-of-water/list?title_no=39385
This is true and sort of adds to my point. If I am going to risk being oppressed oppressed anyways, I might as well risk it for a system that, if done halfway decent, can lead to more fair distribution of resources. Currently a lot of wealth is being funneled into the hands of a few.
I don’t stop with authoritarianism as the only measure of people being oppressed. There are a ton of ways USA citizens are being oppressed. We just vote for who our oppressors are.
“Dictatorships are inherently unstable: you can slaughter, imprison, and brainwash entire generations and their children will invent the struggle for freedom anew. But promise every man a chance to impose the will of the majority upon his fellows, and you can get them all together behind a system that pits them against each other.” Source
The problem with this argument is that the risk for someone taking advantage of the situation to accumulate power is the same under any system. I would rather take that risk for an economic system that aims to treat everyone more fairly than for one that, by design, sends wealth up to a select few who hoard it.
Don’t forget its not just man-hours, but man-lives too
I have even better news if you live in the USA. The unemployment rate increased so the rich people can finally hire for lower wage and increase their profit margins…I mean the economy can finally get a handle on inflation
It won’t be as good as native hardware support, but you can buy a device to add wireless charging. It plugs into the phone USB-C and has a short flexible cable leading into a thin (1 mm maybe) wireless charger receiver that can fit inside a phone case
I love that this comic was meme-fied
I was going to mention postmarketos if they really wanted to dive headfirst into the degoogled life, lol
