Hahahaha…sorry, a bit callous. Bad cops take power through all kinds of abuse and ganging up to bully good cops. Good cops have to deal with having empathy and the desire to avoid violence and the like so they have a harder time and the population themselves vote for center or right-wing candidates that install corrupt officials into high offices.

It’s not desireable for the people but for cops and the owner class it works out pretty fucking well. It doesn’t even work well to deal with crime but since most of that crime ends up being poor-on-poor the owner class still doesn’t give a shit. They get an army of morally bankrupt thugs and their neighbourhoods and crimes get protected so what do they care in the end?

I do not mean to insult but your comment reads like my dad voting conservative to lower taxes on the rich because he actually believes in trickle-down economics. He genuinely thinks CEOs and shareholders care about him, which is nice in a “oh he’s sweet but kinda stupid” sorta way. These people don’t care about what’s best for everyone, they care about what is best for them and as long as the system doesn’t fully crumble within their lifetimes they could not give a fuck.

You literally give a bunch of reasons that consider valid, eapecially the escapism one, and then still try to invalidate the entire thing? I play D&D one night a week and I still do real life things otherwise in the same way that most of these memes are just someone who’s otherwise normal and just doing this stuff for a laugh. It’s not all they’re doing it’s just all that you can see them doing.

In a weird way to say it: Just because you’ve never seen someone share a video of them taking a shit doesn’t mean they don’t go to the washroom regularly.

I can tell you that, in our capitalist hellscape, being unemployed for a year a half fucking sucks. I’ve been able to keep myself busy by helping friends because I was free and playing a lot of music and stuff, and my evenings didn’t need to change much despite seeing people frequently enough, but yea you don’t want this. Hell, I’ve only been kept alive because of my parents and I have to be very careful about expenses because of it and even feel guilty when buying necessities.

Find a good work-life balance. Leave work on time and make sure you leave it where it’s at and don’t bring it home unless you’re actively fighting for better protections, pay, and saner work hours(being grumpy and ranting doesn’t count!). A lot of people let jobs grind them down and we gotta shift ourselves away from that because it’s killing us but also routines and purpose are kinda nice.

Just ignore it. If it works then we’re too stupid for it to matter anyway.

Capitalism creates an environment of fear and danger and promotes of level of individual responsibility that alienates people from everyone else. Even people who are well off today are afraid of losing advantages and being hung out to dry by the very same uncaring system they keep supporting.

Possibly, especially a lot of weird conservative kids who don’t fully understand how relationships work. But really it’s not a huge deal.

They care because people that haven’t bought it should know that these issues don’t seem to be getting better. They should know that their money would be going to that asshole’s pockets. This shit matters and you wanting to plug your ears to discomfort doesn’t change that.

Is it uncomfortable? Around the world “the right” is either already fascist or steadily(and happily) moving towards it while centrism is constantly constantly trying to pretend that everything is ok and that half-ass, less scary changes are implemented in place of better, full-fat ones which may alienate the right-wing voters who are increasingly calling for killing anyone who is slightly against them. The center also runs nearly entirely on “we aren’t the right” and people fall for it all the time.

Smart people know how to make shit work, and they know that because their education allows to perform studies to show that these things work but you try to get a bike lane installed in North America and see what happens. Facts don’t matter to way too many people and so many are also so poor that being deathly afraid of the threat of a teething period is not even wholly unreasonable, as much as we do need to just rip that bandaid off(and usually it just means taxing the rich and not the poor but again, try telling that to people who get their news from Facebook propaganda pages).

And if you’re saying that US Democrats are “the left” then we can’t even have this conversation until that’s sorted out.

A big reason why that’s important, as long as it’s done with care, is because conservatives rely on the rhetoric that purely white, conservative communities would be without crime. This kid grew up in a prime setting to show how amazing their way of life is without any “evil leftist” influences and yet here we are. The US has been given every opportunity to show how great theocratic conservative capitalism is and yet it keeps failing because the reality is that it fucking sucks rocks.

And the best part is that we all know a tonne of people who have these views. We can pretend that these people are actually Russian spies or whatever but at some point we need to accept that Conservatives the world over genuinely are just stupid, angry, and short-sighted. It’s their entire MO.

Red states already suck and Texas oil isn’t about to solve that problem for the rest of them. They’d crumble immediately.

So he wants to get other countries to bring their business here but also wants the foreign experts to piss off after teaching the US citizens how to do their jobs. He also, in the same post, tells them how the US will then beat them at their own game after they need to be taught how to play because they couldn’t figure it out on their own.

I’ll rewrite it for whoever actually wrote this: “We suck, and we can’t build talent domestically. The plan is to get foreigners(who, I would like to remind everyone, we do not want here longterm) to teach us how to do things because we cannot understand it on our own. Then we will quickly become better than them somehow.”

You mean all the people screaming about it and Trump himself calling him “sleepy joe” and all the progressives who begrudgingly voted for him while always prefacing it with “he’s not really fit for it and I don’t like him but literally there are no other options”? Those “no ones”?
