  • I realized this when walking along Hollywood Boulevard. I didn’t think I had to go that far until I saw a star with a name I knew. Showed me that even if you are famous, it won’t take long until you are forgotten.

There are only two ways to be remembered. First, alter the way of history in a significant way (or at least make everyone believe it’s because of you), or second, write a book with really good ideas. Arguably both are the same.

  • Well it does no really. The people with the guns often don’t have much political power. They just follow what other people tell them. From the other side of the barrel it doesn’t seem like that though.

Is there the occasional political power behind a gun? Sure, but commonly not

Though I like the idea a lot, 60 has the great advantage that you can devide it by 2,3,4,5 and 6 which is a very useful property… The real power move would be to use the 60-system for everything… Like the Babylonians did, or so I heared

The reasoning falls for the “appeal to nature” fallacy. Only because in nature no other animal drinks the baby-food of another species, doesn’t follow we shouldn’t do it. Same would be: “no other animal pumps the dead bodies of other species from the earth to burn them in mini engines to avoid the inconvenience of walking a few miles” I mean there are other good reasons, but nature is not one of them.

The last point is just depressing. It’s now 12 years ago that we started the Energiewende… It could have been the perfect opportunity to get away from oil, gas, nuclear and coal, before anyone was really talking about it. But what has come of it? We still have ridiculous laws, hindering solar and wind. grid upgrades are blocked. Villages are bulldozed for coal. Energy companies got billions because of “lost revenue”. Super dependency on the east, which backfired immediately. The highest energy prices in the world for average people (!), also to subsidize our export industry. And the best thing: no one is blaming the government who mismanaged it. No. Everyone blames the people who wanted and want a greener environment.

    And for what? 19%?
