But this is just an interesting and useful government intervention to correct a capitalism-derived problem.

Try chocolate that wasn’t made in America… Then imagine living a country with some of the best ingredients for chocolate making, and only seeing American chocolate on your store shelves… If capitalism is breaking stuff, the government is pretty much the only ones that can fix it. Though when the government is the thing that capitalism is breaking, I can see why you might not want them to do more than they currently do.
Government is supposed to be about pooling money so it can be more efficiently and effectively spent. Economies of scale. Even if the government only half does what you want and half does stuff you don’t care about, you are still getting better bang for your buck than if you tried to use your own tiny amounts of money to buy the half you do want.
Hehe yeah. To celebrate the recent patch increasing multiplayer to 8 people. We basically started like a DnD group sessions style of playthrough. We would meet weekly and play for like 8 hours at a time. Was pretty great.
To be fair, hard to decline when it’s already low. Even if they did include Israel or other countries mentioned in the replies, it’s still totally possible their tourism isn’t lower this year than last. Especially places where it was already pretty much 0 or statistically insignificant. Not declining doesn’t mean it went up, just means it’s at least the same percentage it was last year.
It also breaks other stuff like being able to output video to portable video glasses. A relatively niche use now, but something that will pick up considerably over the life of the console.
Having a floating 4k screen that you can put anywhere at any size is pretty nice. Don’t have to look down at your hands or hold the system up to a comfortable eye line.
I do hope that at some point they open it up a bit more. And maybe only exclude stuff that would damage the system, which is ostensibly the -given- reason for locking it down. While of course, the real reason is likely a licensing opportunity.
I do still buy their stuff. But it has been more and more often lately that I buy it and then feel ok about emulating it to add in stuff like 4k 120 fps or VR/stereoscopic or whatever.
They wouldn’t be using the naked eye to spot the balloons. While I certainly am on the skeptical side that this happened. It is closer to being plausible than it originally seems. There are just some suspect details.
Yeah, even “powerless” narcissists need someone to feed their ego, and will eventually turn on that person and need a new one.
It’s just worse when the narcissist has power.
Yeah, that is actually one of the other points people sometimes use to refute the atom bombs being a war crime. That they didn’t kill as many civilians as firebombs or carpet bombing… I know you aren’t, just brought it to mind. But yeah, that only makes those other types of bombs also war crimes. Hehe.
Does he not know that using the atom bombs to kill civilians was kind of considered a bit of a no-no?
The justification that “it ended the war early, actually ‘saving’ lives” is moot, killing civilians to save soldiers, is pretty much strongly considered the opposite of the point. It is a war crime.
Not having been charged with it, isn’t something you want to go poking at. Everyone has kind of loosely agreed to leave it in the past. But that doesn’t have to stay the case if you make people upset enough like that.
I guess we better get ready for some SLAMing.
“It’s all computer”
It is likely akin to sunk-cost. They have already spent so much of their life having a thing to point at, that they don’t want it to have been wrong the whole time. Even though it was known to be wrong pretty much right away, that was already too late for some.
Some mindsets require assigning blame to an external locus in order to move on. There has to be no chance it was “their fault” even though it’s hard to really describe genetics as such…
There hasn’t really been anything else to suggest a fixed external potential source. So if this one is proven wrong, they are out of options. Ignoring, of course, that it has already been proven wrong. But, that is the reason why they feel it hasn’t. Because it’s so very important to them that it is right.
And of course barring all that, even the most profoundly affected individuals with Autism rarely blame their condition for the lowered quality of life, if any, they blame their surroundings or surrounders incapability of adjusting to their needs. With proper surroundings and surrounders, even at it’s worst, the downsides are manageable and the upsides can be really nice/useful.
Obvious plant does park posters as well.
The logo and style are so similar to an obvious plant poster. But I can’t find if this is an old logo of theirs or just a new person doing the same thing.
Map data obtained and converted from other formats often ends up accidentally condensing labeling categories. One result is train tracks being categorized as generic roads instead of retaining their specific sub-heading. Another, unrelated to this, but common for people that play geo games is when forests and water areas end up being tagged as the wrong specific types.
I just grab an app that lets it increment by amounts other than 10%. Not as good, but doesn’t need root. If I gotta change the volume by alot, I drag the bar. Otherwise I just leave the button at 1% increments. Cuz yeah, my volume is like 1% to 5% most of the time, until I need to watch a youtube video, then it’s like 70%… then the next thing I do on my phone after the youtube video renders me temporarily deaf and everyone within a mile glares at me… and I turn my volume back down to 5% or less again.
Not sure why every single other thing on the phone uses a different standard for volume than video does… just a new loudness war I guess.
There is a reason they chose that as their screen name. I don’t know if they built that account as a troll, or if they got told their opinions are wrong so often in life that having “opinions” became their whole identity. Anytime I see someone with the most “swimming against the current” ideas, I look up, and there is that name again. At this point, I’m very much rooting for troll, as their life would suck even more if it’s all genuine. As much as the life of a troll would suck already.
Hehe yeah, it’s basically an advanced form of the game where you type one word and then keep hitting whatever autocomplete suggests in the top spot for the next word. It’s pretty good at that, but it is just that, taken to an extreme degree, and effectively trained on everyone’s habits instead of just one person.
Some of them are automatic, in that they use the deceleration from letting off the trigger to let out more string. So if you have one of those ones and are constantly turning it on and off in short spurts, it would eat up string pretty fast. Best to do a swath and only let off when you want more string or are completely done. The automatic ones tend to be more intended for heavy duty use, rather than single yard use.
Well, with it being a “relatively” healthy alternative to excessively refined sugar based chocolates, stressing that it is better to eat than American chocolate is pretty important. The idea is to sell it to the populace effectively enough that the reduction in medical spending outweighs or strongly supplements the manufacturing cost.
So it is also kind of an ad in that sense. Just not written for eyes outside of Mexico.
