Sometimes I wish I had better training. I grew up on Suzuki violin, but I never really studied theory. I survive on talent rather than skill, and am very thankful for the skill of those around me!

People think singers aren’t good musicians as a rule and that’s total garbage.

It is wild to me the way some of the orchestral musicians treat the chorus. Most of them are friendly and complimentary, but some of them sure seem to think we’re beneath them. Could just be that they’re not very socially adept, I suppose.

We sing some really difficult stuff as a chorus and you have to know what your note sounds like before you sing it; you can’t rely on just knowing the fingering for your instrument.

And this can be so terrifying for some entrances!

It’s so much fun but also a great mental challenge. I’m thankful to have it in my life as my intellectual musical outlet.

Sure they can. No doubt. But this one isn’t worth being upset about. Especially since being upset about it only benefits American Eagle. I can’t remember the last time I thought about that brand. Now it’s all over headlines. Controversy gets attention.

It also distracts the MAGA sheep from what’s important. Now they can forget about the uncomfortable cognitive dissonance re: Epstein and get back to the very comfortable “mocking leftists for overreacting.”

Just ignore it. It’s manufactured outrage.

Not an issue for us (Ford Escape), the heat and AC can both run off the battery, but the heat does cost a bit of range (along with chemical inefficiency at cold temperature), so range is significantly better in the summer than the winter.

My sister was in a local youth chorus when I came home from college, and told me about the adult version. I found out when auditions were, tried out, got in, and have been loving it ever since!

I had sung in church choirs growing up, but now regret very much not singing during high school and college. A lot of my fellow choir people have great memories of singing in school choirs.

Turns out choirs are a great way to meet a significant other. Other than my wife and I, there are several married couples who met in this chorus (including a couple of married men)! As I tell guys looking to meet people: if you can carry a tune, have a vague understanding of music notation, and live near a medium or large city, you can probably find a volunteer choir. There are a lot of them, they always need people (especially tenors and basses), and are often full of very intelligent and interesting women, some of whom are probably single. 😂

I’m a semi-professional choral singer! I very frequently sing on a volunteer basis in a symphony chorus with a professional orchestra. And also sing with a smaller 12-person choir, really tight harmonies and blending. It’s a lot of fun.

Sometimes I get paid, but that’s rare.

I’ve gotten to sing some pretty awesome stuff (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, video game concerts, Verdi’s Requiem, etc. etc. etc.) and gotten to meet some pretty cool people (including my wife)!

That’s exactly what they want and we all fell for it because our society is predictable and stupid.

It’s a distraction. The response is a distraction. They want you angry about Sydney Sweeney so their base can be angry about you being angry about Sydney Sweeney so we all forget about Epstein.

(And also so they get free publicity for their brand.)

Yeah, in the summer we get around 40 EV miles, if we avoid freeways. I do love the car.

I like their potato cakes. Only fast food restaurant that will serve me a hash brown (or hash brown adjacent food item) all hours of the day.

If you haven’t played It Takes Two (same developer) I highly recommend it. I liked it even more!

I liked Split Fiction, but It Takes Two was better. I hope for more good things from the developer in the future!

They facilitated stuff for the various groups who got Federal funding, as I understand it. Meaning since there is no more Federal funding, they don’t serve much purpose any longer. PBS, NPR, APM, local stations, etc, those are who get donations as well.

Enclosure makes printing some plastics much easier/safer, and it’s become common/inexpensive enough to be a “default” option, especially with options like the Carbon being so affordable.

But the tool has to fit its purpose. If you only print PLA/PETG, then it’s not really necessary. I mostly leave the door off my printer, and only attach it when I need to print ASA or ABS.

I might be seeing it wrong, hard to tell from just this perspective, but could it be placed so the entire side, or entire back, is making contact with the bed? Increasing your contact surface can help dramatically as I said in my other reply.

Check your bed adhesion (clean the bed with detergent and hot water, and I recommend a quick wipe with 91% IPA before each print) to prevent the model rotation seen in this picture, but in general parts with that little bed contact can be difficult to print correctly. If you can’t find an orientation that fits on the bed with more surface area, then slow the print down to minimize forces pushing the print. While supports help, they don’t hold onto the print as firmly as the bed does (on purpose).

I’ve run into some frustrating issues with small contact points with print beds. Another option is to use a smooth PEI plate and use a glue stick or Bed Weld or something to help improve adhesion.
